Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the arrival by 9:30 p.m. of the largest vaccine shipment so far.
February 25, 2021 –Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the arrival of 904,000 doses of the vaccine manufactured by Sinopharm in coordination with
the Beijing Institute of Biological Products of the People’s Republic of China.
The flight, which departed last Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Ezeiza International Airport is arriving at 9:30 p.m., after more than 54 hours of operation,
including the loading time and the stopovers made in Madrid both ways.
The flight landed in Beijing at 2:32 PM time in Argentina (1:32 on Thursday morning in the Chinese capital city), and the loading time at the Beijing
International Airport was of 4½ hours.
The 904,000 doses were completely stowed in the Aerolíneas Argentinas’ Airbus 330 -200 hold, and in special containers called “envirotainers”, which
have maximum efficacy to transport this kind of loads and active temperature control, since vaccines must be stored between 2 and 8 degrees.
This is the fifth flight of Aerolíneas Argentinas to take vaccines into the country, and the first one to the People’s Republic of China. In the 4 previous
flights, 1,220,000 doses of Sputnik V were brought from Moscow.
