December 22, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the departure of its flight AR1060 to Moscow. This was confirmed by Pablo Ceriani,

President of the flag carrier, via twitter (@ceriani_pablo):

“After all the hard work of the @Aerolineas_AR teams and the delegation in Russia, we can confirm that a special flight to Moscow will depart today

at 7:30 pm from Ezeiza to bring the first Sputnik V vaccines against COVID-19 into Argentina.

This implies an unprecedented logistics effort, which entails a mixed operation. Vaccines are being packaged in thermo boxes manufactured by DHL,

which boxes maintain temperature at 18 degrees below zero, and they will be taken to Argentina in one of our A330 aircrafts.

Flight AR1060 to Moscow will be non-stop and will have a crew of 20 people, to carry out the 40 hour-operation without resting in the destination country.

Pilots, cabin crew members, customs officers and loading staff members will take part in the flight.

As members of the @Aerolineas_AR staff, we are all proud to carry out this operation and to continue to contribute to fight COVID-19”.

Besides, today, at 6:45 p.m. at the Malvinas Argentinas Lounge at Terminal C, a press conference will be held by the Minister of Transport, Mario Meoni,

and the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani, where details regarding the flight and its logistics will be provided.
