January 12, 2021 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the departure of its second special flight to Moscow scheduled for January 14 at 9 p.m. This was informed by Pablo Ceriani,

president of the flag carrier, via Twitter (@ceriani_pablo):

“The second @Aerolineas_AR flight to Moscow departs this Thursday at 9 p.m. to bring to the country another batch of 300,000 Sputnik V vaccines. Different areas of the

government have worked together in order to achieve this vital logistics undertaking in the fight against COVID-19.

The flight, which is scheduled to arrive in the country on Saturday at noon, will last approximately 40 hours and will be manned by a crew of 20 people so that the whole endeavor may be completed without technical stops.

We started 2020 with repatriation flights, then we brought health supplies from China, and at the beginning of 2021, it is our turn to bring the vaccines. We never wished to have to

carry out these tasks and we hope that these are the last ones in the context of this pandemic.”

It is worth highlighting that the first sanitary flight operated by Aerolíneas to bring Sputnik V vaccines arrived in the country in the morning of December 24, with 300,000 doses.

Sputnik V vaccines are packaged in thermo boxes manufactured by the company DHL. These boxes maintain the cool temperature during the time necessary to complete the 18-hour

flight between Moscow and Buenos Aires without stopovers, as well as during unloading and the first stage of distribution.
