Buenos Aires, September 18, 2017. Aerolineas Argentinas added a new B-737/800 as part of its fleet renewal plan; the company now has 42 Boeing aircraft in versions 700 and 800 to operate domestic and regional flights, and 84 aircraft in total.

The brand new aircraft arrived in the country directly from the Boeing factory in Seattle, USA and made its first flight over Argentine territory, completing the Aeroparque - San Salvador de Jujuy route. The inaugural flight was attended by the president of the Aerolineas Group, Mario Dell'Acqua, who was welcomed by Gerardo Morales, Governor of the Province and local media at the Gobernador Horacio Guzmán International Airport in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy.

"We continue to grow, and within the growth strategy, fleet renewal plays a central role: it allows us to offer a better service and helps us to maintain the leadership in punctuality that we have achieved in the last 20 months", said Dell'Acqua.

The new B-737/800, registered LV-GVC, has a seat configuration of 170 seats: 8 in Club Economy and 162 in Economy class. It will allow to meet the increasing offer of services resulting from the increase in its flight frequencies and the sum of new destinations, such as the federal corridors and the recently inaugurated hub in the city of Córdoba.

Moreover, and within the framework of the renewal and expansion of its fleet, Aerolíneas will begin to receive the new B-737 MAX 8 in the months of November and December. In this way, the flag airline will be the first in Latin America to fly the MAX model, a much more modern and efficient state-of-the-art aircraft, which will allow to offer the best service in the region to its passengers.

The narrow-body aircraft fleet is completed by 26 Austral’s Embraer E-190 aircraft, thus forming a fleet of 68 aircraft with an average age of less than six years. Aerolíneas and Austral’s whole fleet, including the wide-body aircraft, currently totals 84 units.
