Aerolineas Argentinas inaugurated a new route between Trelew and El Calafate

With 3 weekly frequencies, the company strengthens the network and consolidates federal connectivity.

Buenos Aires, September 22, 2017- With the presence of local authorities at both airports, Aerolíneas Argentinas formally inaugurated today the new route between Trelew, Chubut, and El Calafate, Santa Cruz. In this way, the company continues to add new routes, increasing frequencies and carrying more and more passengers within the country, without the need to pass through Buenos Aires.

"Today we inaugurate a new route that will allow to continue connecting more and more Argentines without having to pass through Buenos Aires. This means that our passengers will continue to travel faster and easier to new destinations, allowing Aerolíneas to continue consolidating as the leading airline in domestic flights", said the President of the Aerolíneas Group, Mario Dell'Acqua.

The new route is operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Embraer 190 aircraft, with capacity for 96 passengers per flight. Departures are scheduled at 10:15 h from the "Almirante Marcos A. Zar" International Airport of Trelew, with estimated arrival at the "Comandante Armando Tola" International Airport in El Calafate at 12: 00 h. Returns depart same days from Calafate at 16: 00 h and arrive in Trelew at 17:30 h.

"We are proud to inaugurate this route that connects two of the most emblematic Patagonian destinations", said Diego García, Commercial Director of the Aerolíneas Group during his visit. "It responds to a specific request of the tourist client who visits the south of the country. Therefore, we expect high load factors and good profitability", the executive added.

With these new flights, the Aerolíneas Group operates 38 weekly frequencies that connect directly Trelew airport with Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza), Cordoba, Bahía Blanca, Comodoro Rivadavia and, from now on, El Calafate. For its part, the company operates in Calafate 37 weekly frequencies that connect it with Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza), Cordoba, Rosario, Bariloche, Ushuaia and, from now on, Trelew.
