Aerolíneas Argentinas and Aeroméxico have today announced the implementation of a new codeshare agreement that includes operations between Buenos Aires and Mexico City, as well as between Buenos Aires and Cancun. Customers of both airlines will have access to new and more travel options from February 15.

This way Aerolíneas Argentinas customers will be able to fly daily between Buenos Aires and Mexico City, on flights operated by Aeroméxico and marketed by the Aerolíneas Group. Likewise, Aeroméxico will market flights between the Argentine capital and Cancun, operated by Aerolineas Argentinas. On all Aerolíneas Argentinas and Aeroméxico flights, passengers can also earn and redeem points or miles in their Aerolíneas Plus or Aeromexico Club Premier accounts.

Diego Garcia, Aerolíneas Group Sales Manager, said about these new operations "The agreement aims to strengthen our network. The inclusion of the destination Mexico D. F. as nonstop flight will make us more attractive when competing in the corporate segment that today Aerolineas Argentinas leads in the domestic and regional traffic in the Argentine market. As we have been working and listening to our clients, we believe that this step will be highly appreciated by them. Also at tourism level it allows operators to create packages combining beach and city flying to Cancun and returning from Mexico City.

Both airlines are part of the SkyTeam alliance, and are the carriers that lead the commercial air market between Argentina and Mexico.

Aerolíneas Argentinas, SkyTeam member since August 2012, is the leading airline in Argentina, flying to 60 airports in 14 countries with a fleet of 83 aircraft. The Codeshare agreement with Aeroméxico is the ninth for the Argentine company, and the sixth that is implemented with an alliance company.
