Everyone that travels to El Calafate does so for one reason: to see the gigantic masses of ice, and there is no better place to do this than in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares.
It is a protected area that was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1981. It is approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) from El Calafate and can be reached by taking a tour or on your own, in a car or bus.
In the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares one can find some of the most beautiful landscapes in our country. If there is anything that highlights this beauty, without doubt, it is the majestic Glacier Perito Moreno. Thanks to the extensive network of walkways, whoever visits this park, can admire its great size from different angles and heights. In the park there are also various other activities such as walking on the ice, hiking, climbing and fishing.
