The Fifteenth Aerolíneas Argentinas Flight Departs to Moscow

Following the arrival of the last flight early on Monday morning, the company has confirmed a new flight in search of more Sputnik V vaccine doses.

May 11, 2021 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the departure of another flight to Moscow to bring more Sputnik V vaccine doses.

It will be the fifteenth cargo flight operated to and from Russia. The plane is expected to depart today at 5:00 p.m., and it will be landing at Sheremetyevo International Airport on May 12 at 3:30 p.m. (local time in Moscow).

The return flight is scheduled to depart from Moscow at 7:30 p.m. (local time) and arrive at Ezeiza International Airport on May 13 at 7:30 a.m.

“Aerolíneas Argentinas is at the service of the Argentine citizens. It is extreme situations like these that prove how important it is to have a flag carrier that can solve logistics problems quickly,” explained Pablo Ceriani, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

As in previous flights, the vaccines manufactured by the Gamaleya Institute will be carried in “thermobox” containers at -18 ºC with additional refrigerated cargo. The flight will be operated by the Airbus 330 aircraft with registration mark LV-GIF, which was modified to transport cargo.

So far, out of a total of 12,198,250 vaccine doses that have arrived in the country in 22 flights, Aerolíneas Argentinas has brought 10,192,490 doses in 19 flights: 14 from Moscow carrying 6,533,290 Sputnik V doses, and 5 from Beijing carrying 3,659,200 Sinopharm doses.
