The incident occurred during the “cruise” phase of the flight, and was immediately reported by the captain of the aircraft. Upon the flight’s arrival, the company sent in its medical team to assist those passengers who suffered bruises or contusion due to the sudden movements caused by this type of weather condition.

Once the turbulence area was left behind, the flight crew assisted the injured passengers and assessed the general condition of all 192 passengers.

Upon arrival, the medical teams provided the relevant health assistance and the necessary healthcare services to every one of the passengers affected. Similarly, the human factors head officers of Aerolíneas Argentinas arrived to provide support and attend to the specific needs of the passengers.

Turbulence takes place when two bodies of air of different temperature or different speed meet. Turbulence can cause sudden movements in the aircraft depending on its intensity, although under no circumstance do they pose a threat to the aircraft’s safety.
