The airline informed that it may also ban passengers from flying with the Company for up to 5 years.

October 27, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas informed today that it will file a criminal complaint against passengers who try to avoid health controls, forge documents, or show up at the airport having tested positive for COVID-19. This was announced via Twitter by Pablo Ceriani, President of the Company:

“Less than a week ago, Aerolíneas resumed its operation of scheduled flights and, although it may seem hard to believe, two passengers have already shown up at the airport with a POSITIVE COVID-19 test certificate. In view of this, we would like to inform that we will be taking the following measures:

Passengers who show up at the airport with a positive COVID-19 test certificate or with forged documents in order to avoid health controls will have a criminal complaint filed against them and will not be allowed to board any flight operated by Aerolíneas for 5 years.

This 5-year ban will also apply to any passenger who does not have a negative PCR test certificate to enter those provinces that so require it and who refuses to be tested at the destination airport.”

Passengers must submit the documents requested from essential workers or persons who need to travel to receive medical treatment, as set forth in Section 11 of Executive Order 792/2020. Furthermore, passengers will have to check and meet the specific requirements for each destination in order to board their flight.

Aerolíneas Argentinas asks passengers for their full cooperation and relies on their goodwill, but this does not mean that the Company will be lenient with those who endanger the safety of other passengers or its own staff.
