A new special Aerolíneas flight to Miami

16/04/2020

The company also confirmed 3 special flights with Tierra del Fuego for April 18, 22 and 25.

April 16, 2020 –  Aerolíneas Argentinas announced today a new exceptional flight from Miami, scheduled for April 18, which is estimated to arrive to Ezeiza international airport at 7.30 PM.

It is important to highlight that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship is the authority that defines the lists of passengers based upon the priorities established by health protocols. Said modality applies to exceptional flights. That is why passengers have been asked to make their requests through the consular offices, since the Company will not issue bookings or commercialize the flight through its sales channels.

With the confirmation of this new flight, 7 exceptional flights have been scheduled so far (2 from Cancun, 2 from Punta Cana, 1 from Bogota, 1 from Quito and 1 from Miami). In this second stage, Aerolíneas has made available more than 1800 seats for Argentine people willing to return to the country.

During the first stage of the special flights operation which took place between March 18 and 27, 44 special flights were operated, allowing for more than 14,000 passengers to return to the country. Flights were operated from Río de Janeiro, Florianopolis, São Paulo, Porto Seguro, San Salvador de Bahía, Bogota, Lima, Miami, Madrid, Cancun and Punta Cana.

Finally, a flight operated by Aerolíneas reached Ezeiza airport yesterday from Cancun and today at 8.45 PM a flight from Punta Cana will also arrive.

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

The Argentine flag carrier confirmed yesterday its operation of special flights to and from Ushuaia with three frequencies on April 18, 22 and 25.

Since Resolution 64 from the Ministry of Transport of the Nation was issued, whereby operations were suspended within the country as from March 20, the company was authorized to fly on March 21, 22, 23 and 24 so as to ensure the minimum and indispensable connectivity.

After the Provincial Government of Tierra del Fuego made the decision on March 26 to provisionally suspend the arrival of aircraft carrying passengers to the island, Aerolíneas Argentina resumed its operations with a new special flight which took place on April 12.

Taking into account the importance of the arrival of flights in Tierra del Fuego, the Company has scheduled 9 exceptional flights to Ushuaia. In terms of seats, this means an aggregate of 3000 seats, or 1500 passengers per flight segment.
