Buenos Aires, September 17th, 2018 – With the arrival of its flight from Cordoba at 1 PM, Aerolíneas Argentinas inaugurated today its seasonal operations to the city of Mar del Plata. So far this year, the company has transported 32% more passengers to that city than in 2017.

The route received the traditional water-arc baptism, which greeted flight 2296 on its arrival. The Major of General Pueyrredón, Carlos Arroyo, the Undersecretary of Tourism of the Province of Buenos Aires, Martina Pikienly, and authorities of Aerolíneas Argentinas took part in the event.

The route connecting Mar del Plata and Córdoba is part of the special summer-season operations, starting at one flight a week. During October/November, this route will have 3 weekly frequencies, rising to 5 in December and then to 7 weekly frequencies in January.

Said flight becomes part of the “Hub Córdoba” network, allowing the people in Mar del Plata to connect to other Argentine cities such as Salta, Tucumán, Mendoza, Neuquén, Resistencia, Iguazú, Posadas, Jujuy and Bariloche without touching Buenos Aires.

The Mar del Plata offer for the summer season will be completed, as from December, with direct flights from Tucumán, Mendoza and Rosario. The flight from Tucumán will have 6 weekly frequencies, the one from Mendoza, 5, and the one from Rosario, 3.

During H1 2018, Aerolíneas Argentinas carried to Mar del Plata 235,000 passengers, i.e., 32% more than in 2017. Aeroparque, Ezeiza and Bahía Blanca, Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosario are the airports leading the ranking of passengers carried to and from Mar del Plata.
