February 23, 2021 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the departure of its flight AR1050 to Beijing, China, to bring new doses, in this case, of Sinopharm.

The president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani, announced this flight via Twitter:

“We would like to inform you that today, at 1 p.m., the flight AR1050 operated by@Aerolineas_AR will depart to Beijing to bring doses of the Sinopharm vaccine into the country.

In order to carry the vaccines, which must be stored at refrigerated 2-8°C conditions, “envirotainers”, i.e., special containers with active temperature control, will be used. This will allow us to carry more vaccines in the aircraft hold.

The operation will take 48 hours with a stopover in Madrid, plus the loading time at the Beijing International Airport (PEK). The flight is expected to arrive at the Ezeiza International Airport on Thursday at 9:50 p.m.”.

It is worth noting that Aerolíneas Argentinas has already operated four flights to Moscow, where 1,220,000 doses of Sputnik V were brought to Argentina.
