Aerolíneas Argentinas presented its new Strategic Plan

22/10/2018

On Tuesday 17, the President of Aerolíneas Argentinas Group, Eng. Luis Malvido, presented the strategic plan of the company to 200 leaders of the organization for the next three years. The strategy is based on four pillars: sustainability, network development, service excellence, and adherence to processes and transparence, under an umbrella of safety as the core value of the operation.

Within the framework of the leaders meeting held periodically by the company, Malvido presented the features defining the company’s horizon for the next three years, in an extremely challenging and competitive censario. The four pillars translate into 8 crucial objectives, which in turn translate into 18 initiatives that will transpire in 66 projects of prompt implementation.

These are the 8 crucial objectives supporting the plan: to boost income, to optimize fleet’s efficiency, to win a cost-competitive position, to increase human resources’ effectiveness, to gain a commercial competitive edge, to enhance the entire travel experience, and to evolve into a digital company.

Regarding the context in which the plan is being presented, Luis Malvido pointed out, “The market scenario in Argentina has changed and puts us the pressure to gain a competitive edge and to continue being the preferred choice of our passengers. There’s a lot of work to be done for our customers, but we also need to change the way in which we do things. We’ll work towards this goal because it will be the key for us to maintain our market leadership.”

An important aspect of the plan is that each of the 18 initiatives will be led by a member of the Executive Committee, periodical monitoring, and specific performance indicators. These are some highlights among the 66 projects of the plan:

- Definition and development of the frequent flyer strategy, boosting of the Aerolíneas Plus program

- Development of the cargo business

- Replacement of Embraer’s fleet and long-haul fleet

- Retrofit of narrow-body aircraft fleet (retrofit project)

- Enhancement of customer’s digital experience

- Implementation of the new corporate governance policies

- Review of spare parts supply and services agreements

- Optimize airport charges

This plan was devised through existing initiatives and the implementation of new ones on account of the new scenario that the company is facing. Luis Malvido was appointed president of the company on July 30, 2018.
