During the long weekend, Aerolíneas Argentinas will carry 9 % more passengers than last year

During the next long weekend, the company will carry an aggregate amount of 197,661 passengers. In the domestic market, this growth represents a 14 % increase as compared to the previous year.

October 10, 2018.- During the next long weekend, Aerolíneas Argentinas will carry 9 % more passengers than during the same period in 2017. This translates into 197,661 tickets sold throughout the whole network, both domestic and international.

Domestic operations evidence the most significant growth with 14 % tickets more. Destinations with the largest increase are Neuquén (+25 %), Córdoba (+21 %), Ushuaia (+17 %), Iguazú (+13 %), Mendoza (+13 %), and Trelew (+11 %).

An average of 39,532 daily customers are expected from Friday, October 12 to Tuesday, October 17. Monday will be the day with the busiest traffic, which will amount to 44,170 passengers, i.e. a 10 % increase as compared to last year.

It is worth mentioning that Aerolíneas Argentinas has recently introduced its summer season operation with almost 3 million seats. There will be 13 % more seats to fly between Tucumán and Mar del Plata, 14 % more seats between Mendoza and Mar del Plata, 23 % more seats between Buenos Aires and El Calafate, 31 % more seats between Córdoba and El Calafate, and 25 % more seats between Ushuaia and Buenos Aires. As for regional destinations, Punta Cana rises in importance because its weekly frequencies increase from 4 to 7 (6 from Buenos Aires and 1 from Córdoba). As for international destinations, frequencies to Madrid increase from 7 to 10 (as compared to June 2018).

During August, the company hit 91 % of punctuality, this being its highest historical punctuality percentage. During September, that percentage was of 89 %, 5 points beyond the goals established for 2018. Moreover, the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) awarded Aerolíneas Argentinas the status of a four stars airline (out of a maximum of five) in the category "global airlines". In this ranking, which is based on passengers’ opinions, only 23 companies (out of 500) reached 4 stars.
