Aerolíneas Argentinas received an important prize based on passengers’ opinions

At APEX, passengers of almost 500 airlines worldwide rated over a million flights. Aerolíneas Argentinas obtained four stars (out of five) in the category "global airlines".

September 27, 2018 – Aerolíneas Argentinas was awarded four stars (out of five), based on the opinion of its passengers in the category "global airlines." This recognition was given in the context of APEX Expo, held in Boston, United States. The main airlines around the world gathered there to witness the awarding ceremony.

Of the almost 500 airlines rated worldwide, only 23 reached the prestigious level of four stars. The same recognition was awarded to global airlines such as Air France, British Airways, Iberia, KLM and Scandinavian.

"It is an honor for Aerolíneas to receive this prize, which is the result of the effort of all its members. After years of constant, planned work, this past month we have broken historical punctuality records and outdone our customer satisfaction standards. This is the road we are focused on", pointed out Luis Malvido, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

The APEX Official Airline Ratings were created based on passenger comments collected through the association between APEX and Concur TripIt, the best rated travel management app in the world. Using a scale of five stars, passengers of almost 500 airlines worldwide rated over a million flights between June 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018. First, passengers rated their overall flight experience from one to five stars. Then, they had the opportunity to provide anonymous ratings within five subcategories: comfortable seats, cabin service, food and beverages, entertainment and Wi-Fi.

This recognition is in addition to the three obtained in May, in the context of TripAdvisor’s “Travelers Choice Awards”, awarded according to the references and assessments of thousands of travelers. In that opportunity, Aerolíneas Argentinas was distinguished in three categories: Best Airline in Latin America, Best Business Class in Latin America, and Best Economy Class in Latin America.

In August, Aerolíneas Argentinas achieved a punctuality of 91%, hitting the highest percentage since the company began registering punctuality. Between January and August of last year, the punctuality average reached 84%, while for the same period this year it is at 88%. According to FlightStats, the organization that measures punctuality internationally, the company is the third most punctual airline in Latin America.

What is more, in August the score of customer satisfaction (NPS) also reached the highest level ever recorded by the company. Check-In (8.98 points), crew (8.91) and baggage (8.25) were the aspects most valued by the passengers of Aerolíneas. Since 2017, there can be seen a solid trend towards the improvement of this index, which in August of this year shows a growth of 13 percentage points when compared with the same month last year.
