Baggage
Baggage Allowance includes all items that may be carried (in the cabin and in the hold) free of charge according to the fare purchased.
There are promotional fares which do not include baggage in the hold. In this case, you may purchase additional baggage in advance up to 3 hours before the departure of the flight through our webpage, the contact center, one of our offices, or at the airport.
We recommend that you write your personal information on your carry-on baggage and on your baggage sent to the hold.
Carry-on baggage can be taken on board, subject to the space available in the cabin. In case it cannot be carried on board due to operational issues, it will be sent to the hold free of charge, even if it qualifies as checked baggage as regards size and weight.
Conversely, if your carry-on baggage does not comply with the maximum amount, size and weight allowed, you will have the chance to send it to the hold of the plane at an extra cost. If you decide not to do that, we will not be able to carry your baggage on board.
As a recommendation, we suggest that you keep with you any fragile or valuable items as well as your documentation and medication.
Carry-on baggage
You can take a carry-on bag and a personal item in the cabin free of charge, as long as they are included in your fare and they comply with the allowed characteristics, size and weight, for your safety and comfort on board.
Maximum sizes are 55 x 35 x 25 cm (height, length and width), including pockets, wheels and handle.
The carry-on must fit in the airport baggage meter. Any baggage exceeding the size allowed by said meters will be checked and carried in the hold of the plane, subject to charges.
Personal item
Maximum sizes are 40 x 30 x 15 cm (height, length and width) and maximum weight is 3 kg.
It may be a backpack, a purse, a laptop bag or a baby bag.
In the first row and in the emergency exit, the personal item must be placed in the overhead compartment.
Other items that you can carry:
Infants
No right to allowance. They can only carry a stroller, a baby walker or a folding baby chair, free of charge and in the hold.
Minors
They have the right to the same baggage allowance than adult passengers.
Items that you cannot carry:
To ensure everyone’s safety, carrying certain items is forbidden/restricted. To know which items they are, we recommend visiting our section on restricted items.
Checked baggage must contain personal use items (clothes, footwear, toiletries, etc.). Bear in mind that there are promotional fares which do not include baggage allowance; however, in these cases, there is an option to purchase additional baggage in advance through our website, a sales office or our contact center up to 3 hours before the departure of your flight, at a preferential fare.
Domestic Flights
Adults
In the event of issuance of tickets connecting with a Regional / International flight, the latter's baggage allowance shall be respected.

Not entitled to baggage allowance. Infant items allowed can include a pushchair / baby walker, collapsible stroller or car seat which can be transported in the passenger cabin, subject to space availability.

Regional Flights
Adults
In the event of issuance of tickets connecting with a domestic flight, it will respect the baggage allowance of the Regional flight.

3-Baggage on connections between regional/International flights and domestic flights:The passenger will complete immigration procedures, collect the baggage to go through customs, and recheck it at the authorized counters..

Infants not occupying a seat are entitled to a free checked baggage allowance only, which consists of 1 piece of maximum 10 kg and 115 cm. Items allowed can include a pushchair / baby walker, collapsible stroller or car seat which can be transported in the passenger cabin, subject to space availability.

Aerolíneas Plus exclusive benefit
- Aerolíneas Plus Gold, Platinum and Diamond members, as well as SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members, shall enjoy the benefit of having the first piece of additional baggage in the hold at no cost, according to the allowance established for the relevant route and cabin.
- AR Plus Gold passengers entitled to the benefit of one extra item (of the same amount of kilos as the one authorized for the ticket class/family) may choose to replace this extra item with one piece of special baggage.
- AR Plus Platinum/Diamond passengers entitled to the benefit of one extra item (of the same amount of kilos as the one authorized for the ticket class/family) may also carry one piece of special baggage at no cost.
- In case of award tickets issued through the redemption of Aerolíneas Plus miles, up to four (4) additional bags may be purchased, all of them for the price of “additional bags”.
