Aerolíneas Argentinas: Another Month of Sound Operations

04/05/2018

Buenos Aires, May 4th, 2018 – Aerolíneas Argentinas announced the results of its operations for the month of April. The company carried 1,000,200 passengers, amounting to  4% more than in 2017 and 26% more than in 2016.

The number of passengers carried during the month of April reasserts the continued growth sustained by the company. During Q1 2018, the number of passengers carried was 4,460,000, which amounts to 6% more than those carried during the same period of 2017.

It should be remembered that during this year Aerolíneas Argentinas broke several of its records of passengers carried: in January, it beat its historical mark for a single month, with 1,241,766 travelers, and this past Holy Week it carried 226,943 passengers, almost 10% more than in 2017 -the previous record.

Regarding punctuality, it hit 86.3%, this being beyond the goals set by the company. The overall average maintained by the company since January until today amounts to 88%, equaling the results of the previous year and with peaks of up to 99% on particular days.

With respect to the above paragraph, it should be noted that the company was recently recognized by the aviation stats consulting firm Flightstats as one of the most punctual airlines in the world, and the leader in the region.

“These figures show us that people keep choosing us. And they choose us because we are punctual and we offer a good service. It is a virtuous cycle of continuous improvement that we can maintain through time because we have a team of collaborators engaged in flight operation”, expressed Mario Dell’Acqua, President of the Aerolíneas Group.

Commercially speaking, during April, 596,397 tickets were sold, 3.7% more than last year. Of those sales, 41.1% were through direct selling cannels. Retained earnings for the first quarter of the year exceeded those obtained last year by 2.7%. These achievements are a result of the robust commercial policy of the company and a gradual increase in the offer of seats, routes and segment interconnection.

Figures for the Last Long Weekend

The last long weekend of April began on April 27, when 41,945 passengers were carried on a single day, which equaled a load rate of over 85%. The 5 days analyzed (from 04/27 to 05/01) totaled 168,445passengers, with the punctuality average reaching 80% and peaks exceeding 93%.
