May 7, 2021 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the departure of another flight to Moscow in search of more Sputnik V vaccine doses.

It will be the fourteenth cargo flight operated to and from Russia. The plane is expected to depart on Saturday at 2:00 a.m. with flight number AR1080, and it will be landing at Sheremetyevo International Airport on May 9 at 12:30 a.m.

The return flight is scheduled to depart from Moscow at 4:30 a.m. (local time) and arrive at Ezeiza International Airport next Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

“Every flight we operate is a new opportunity to do our part in the overall logistics chain involved in the carriage of millions of vaccines, which translates into millions of people protected. We are proud to be working towards this goal,” stated Pablo Ceriani, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

As in previous flights, the vaccines manufactured by the Gamaleya Institute will be carried in “thermobox” containers at -18 ºC with additional refrigerated cargo. The flight will be operated by the Airbus 330 aircraft with registration mark LV-GIF, which was modified to transport cargo.

So far, out of a total of 11,698,145 vaccine doses that have arrived in the country in 22 flights, Aerolíneas Argentinas has brought 9,642,490 in 18 flights: 13 from Moscow carrying 6,033,290 Sputnik V doses, and 5 from Beijing carrying 3,659,200 Sinopharm doses.
