It is the fourth of five aircraft that the company will incorporate to its fleet. The aircraft, with registration mark LV-HKV, made its inaugural flight to the city of Mendoza.

Buenos Aires, Tuesday, March 6, 2018.- Aerolíneas Argentinas started operating its brand new aircraft in regular flights today, with its inaugural flight to the capital city of the province of Mendoza, only a few months after the introduction of this aircraft model to the world. This Boeing 737 MAX 8, with registration mark LV-HKV, is the fourth of five aircraft of this type that were ordered to the American manufacturer.

The inaugural flight AR1536 departed from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery at 7:35 AM and landed at Eng. Francisco Gabrielli International Airport at 9:30 AM, and was received with the traditional “baptism” by governor Alfredo Cornejo and other provincial and local authorities.

Mario Dell´Acqua, President of Aerolíneas Group expressed that: “This new MAX allows us to continue to upgrade our fleet to fly with a wider range and more autonomy, with more comfort for passengers and more efficiency. We are the first airline in the region to incorporate this model, which is the best in the market to suit our domestic, regional and international operations. It is one of our pillars to go on growing.”

As of today, this new equipment with 170 seats per aircraft (8 in Club Economy and 162 in economy class) and more flight autonomy will cover regular flights throughout Argentina and the region.

The MAX family incorporates the latest technology with their CFM International LEAP-1B engines, their innovative winglets and other improvements to offer the highest level of efficiency. It has a more comfortable layout and a LED lighting system that changes color according to the time of the day, adjusting its intensity. Furthermore, the split-tip winglet design allows for a reduction in fuel consumption, thus protecting the environment and cutting operating costs.
