For the second consecutive year, Skyteam was awarded within the framework of the "Air Transport News" awards that took place in Salzburg, Austria, on Saturday March 26.

"Winning this award again is a great honour and clearly demonstrates that focusing on the service we offer to our passengers is recognized by the industry and valued by users," said Perry Cantarutti, SkyTeam’s CEO and Managing Director. "Our goal is to deliver value to our 20 member airlines and their 665 million customers by creating a travel experience across our network of 1,057 destinations as well as implementing improvements, more services and benefits" added Perry Cantarutti.

The Air Transport News Awards are held annually to recognize achievements across a broad cross section of the aviation industry. Finalists are voted for by readers of Air Transport News with winners decided by a jury of industry experts.

Recent SkyTeam achievements include:

1. Priority benefits: SkyTeam has completed the rollout of SkyPriority across the entire network, offering priority service to Elite Plus frequent flyers and to those who fly in First Class or Business Class to over 1,000 destinations worldwide, ensuring a consistent level of service across the alliance.

2. Greater number of exclusive lounges: along with the alliance’s member companies, SkyTeam has doubled the number of VIP lounges in 2015, by incorporating new facilities in Sydney and Hong Kong in January and October, respectively. In addition, the fifth SkyTeam’s brand lounge will open in the new Dubai international terminal. Currently, SkyTeam customers have access to over 630 lounges worldwide.

3. Investments in technology: From facilitating international connections in major global hubs to simplify the redemption of miles for frequent flyers, SkyTeam continues to invest in its technology platform. In mid-March, skyteam.com was relaunched and the SkyTeam App has developed useful features so that passengers have all the information they need in the palm of their hand.

4. Synergies in China - Based on its position as a leading alliance in the region, SkyTeam has improved the customer experience in Greater China, offering its passengers an excellent service during the whole travel experience, including check-in, baggage drop-off, transfer and customs procedures.

Aerolineas Argentinas is proud of being part of SkyTeam since August 2012, offering its passengers all the benefits and products the alliance develops with special focus on the travel experience.
