GOL and Aerolineas Argentinas deepen codeshare agreement

Both Airlines will offer more mutual services on trunk flights between Brazil and Argentina. In total, they have 45 destinations and seek to strengthen its position in traffic between both countries.

Buenos Aires, June 22, 2016.- GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes and Aerolineas Argentinas today announced the consolidation of its regional alliance, adding to its current codeshare agreement all trunk routes operated by both companies between Argentina and Brazil. As from today, the direct routes between Buenos Aires (Ezeiza and Aeroparque) and Brazil (Porto Alegre, Florianopolis, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Porto Seguro, Recife, Fortaleza, Natal), in addition to those of Cordoba and Rosario to Rio de Janeiro, are added to the strategic alliance, which now has 160 weekly flights on 15 nonstop routes.

As a result of this expansion, both companies will be able to sell mutually tickets to 20 destinations in Argentina and to 25 destinations in Brazil, directly or with an immediate connection at both companies’ hubs. In total, they have 45 codeshare destinations, covering a wide geography of the two countries and strengthening the union between Argentina and Brazil.

Ciro Camargo, GOL alliances manager, said, "This agreement will allow us together to better connect the two peoples enhancing the opportunities they present". For his part, Diego Garcia, responsible for the Aerolineas Group’s Commercial Area said "GOL is a strategic partner for us and this agreement does nothing more than enhance the joint work we have been carrying out to strengthen the relationship between Argentina and Brazil."

The agreement comes into effect from today and implies that passengers can purchase tickets at either of the sales channels of both airlines, regardless of who operates the routes and thus access to a wide network of destinations in Brazil and Argentina.
