Aerolineas Argentinas increases by 50% the allowance for the carriage of baggage

23/05/2016

The benefit is intended exclusively for Economy Club Class passengers, who may take up to 2 pieces of 23 kg each on domestic and international flights. This modification includes tickets issued from May 18, 2016 onwards for Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral flights.

With the intention to continue to improve the travel experience of its Club Economy passengers, Aerolineas Argentinas changed the allowance for its domestic, regional and international flights, increasing by 50% the total weight allowed.

Baggage allowance involves all those elements that the passenger is authorized to transport without any charge. It includes checked baggage (hold baggage) and carry-on baggage.

Therefore, from now and on domestic flights, Club Economy passengers can carry up to 2 pieces of 23 kg each, whereas before the new regulation, passengers could carry only one piece of 30 kg.

In the case of regional and international flights (Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Venezuela), the allowance was also increased. Thus passengers may now carry a piece of up to 23 kg in Economy class (formerly 1 piece of 20 kg) and 2 pieces of up to 23 kg each in Club Economy or Club Condor y class (formerly a piece of 30 kg). Regarding flights to Europe, the allowance was also increased but the value depends on the passenger’s travel class.
