April 21, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the operation of new special flights from Lima, Cancun, Punta Cana and Madrid.

As informed by the company, the first of these flights will depart from Lima today and will arrive in the country at 7 p.m. The flights from Cancun, Punta Cana and Madrid are scheduled to arrive on April 22 at 7.10 p.m., on April 23 at 8.50 p.m. and on April 27 at 4.20 a.m., respectively.

In total, 960 new seats have been made available to the Argentine passengers who are still stranded. These 4 new flights are in addition to the 51 special flights already operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas, which, since March 18, have allowed for more than 16,000 Argentine passengers to return to the country from Miami, Madrid, Punta Cana, Cancun, Bogota, Quito, Lima, San Salvador de Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Porto Seguro and Florianopolis.

“We continue working to operate these special flights in constant consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship and based on identified needs. Aerolíneas Argentinas is at the service of the Argentine people”, expressed Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

It is important to highlight that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship is the authority that defines the lists of passengers based on the priorities established by health protocols. Said modality applies to exceptional flights. That is why passengers have been asked to make their requests through the consular offices.

It is worth noting that, in addition to the special flights mentioned above, the company has scheduled a total of 8 flights from Shanghai, China, with the purpose of bringing medical supplies, reagents and health materials to the country, for their allocation to the Argentine Public Healthcare System.
