Buenos Aires, July 13, 2017. - The results achieved by Aerolineas Argentinas during the month of June reaffirm that the company is on the growth path and contribute to achieve an exceptional performance for the first half of the year. According to the data presented this noon at the Ministry of Transport of the Nation by company executives and with the presence of Minister Guillermo Dietrich, the first half recorded an increase in passengers carried, records in punctuality, and increased sales because of a renewed and wider network of connectivity.

The results of June, very much in line with the company's consistent performance over the previous five months, show a 19% increase in passengers carried compared to 2016 and 25% compared to 2015. During June, the Aerolíneas Group carried 944,853 passengers, with a seat occupancy rate of 78% vs. about 74% registered in 2016 and 2015.

Although June is characterized as one of the most challenging months in terms of meteorology, Aerolíneas again showed an outstanding performance in punctuality, achieving 83%, which contributes to consolidate the company as a leader in this field. During the semester, the flag carrier achieved 87% punctuality (compared to 85% in 2016 and 78% in 2015) with more than 58 thousand legs flown and 98.2% departure compliance in the first six months of the year.

The good monthly results are also reflected in sales, with just over 633 thousand tickets sold, representing an increase of 14% compared to May 2016 and 12% compared to the same month of 2015. This is partly explained by the wide offer that the company presented for the winter season. In total, sales for the first half reached 3.74 million tickets, 17% above the same period in 2016 and 22% compared to 2015.

Also noteworthy is the steady upward trend in direct sales, which in June reached 38.3% - just above June 2016 and 8.3% more than in 2015. Thus, direct sales for the whole semester reached the mark of 39% (compared to 36.8% in 2016 and 33% in 2015).

"The growth of Aerolíneas is the main pillar of the plan The Revolution of the Airplanes, which aims to double the number of people flying in our country. Aerolíneas is growing like never before, implementing new routes with a federal vision, more frequencies, better on-board services, and maintaining the leadership in punctuality, essential in passengers’ choice", said Guillermo Dietrich, Minister of Transport of the Nation.

"Aerolíneas and Austral continue to grow and improve connectivity, with new routes, better schedules, more punctuality, with promotions and discounts for retirees, thus making it possible for more and more Argentines to choose their flag carrier as an option for their travels", said Mario Dell'Acqua, President of the Aerolíneas Group.
