Aerolineas Argentinas has announced its new flight schedule for the summer season

By making a big bet on domestic and regional flights, the flag carrier will increase its frequencies to the main tourist destinations in Argentina and neighboring countries for the 2016/2017 season increasing the number of seats and frequencies

In the framework of the 61st edition of the International Tourism Fair, the most important in Latin America, Aerolineas Argentinas shared with key industry players the new network of flights for the season 2016/2017 in which it will increase its domestic flights by 6% with respect to November 2016. In total, the company adds 52 additional frequencies, with more connections to Rosario, Cordoba and Mendoza.

The focus specifically will aim to increase traditional flight frequencies between the city of Mar del Plata and the province of Cordoba, with 7 weekly flights; Buenos Aires with 21 weekly frequencies and Tucuman with 5 flights a week. Added to that, this year, direct flights between the seaside city, Mendoza and Rosario with 3 direct weekly frequencies from each city are added. The total offer to and from Mar del Plata is then of 39 frequencies per week, representing an increase of 178%. This frequency increase will start on December 7 to strengthen that long weekend.

In addition, concerning connectivity with the region, the Aerolíneas Group makes a big bet on the next summer with flights departing from various Argentine cities to Brazil and Uruguay. While it will add an additional frequency from Buenos Aires to Porto Seguro going from one to two weekly frequencies, the increase of flights to Brazil compared to last season will be 14% in December and 22% in January. In this regard, the company will also add a frequency from Mendoza to Brazil from January 2017.

In the case of the offer of flights to Punta del Este, the connection from Buenos Aires will go from the current 7 weekly frequencies to 17 from the December long weekend, and to 30 frequencies from January 2017. Along with flights from Cordoba and Rosario, Aerolíneas will have 35 weekly flights from Argentina to the Uruguayan city.

Thus, you can fly directly from Cordoba to Punta del Este with 3 weekly flights; to Rio de Janeiro with 2 weekly frequencies; to Salvador de Bahia with 1 weekly flight (from November) and to Porto Seguro with 1 weekly frequency (from October).

Rosario will also have direct flights to some of the most important tourist destinations in the region with 1 flight per week to Florianopolis, 1 flight per week to Rio de Janeiro and 2 weekly frequencies to Punta del Este.

Finally, summer operation between Buenos Aires and Florianopolis will start in December with 7 weekly frequencies and increasing to 14 flights per week as from next January.

With the summer season about to start, these new flights will enable the company to continue growing in the number of passengers carried that in the period January-August has already surpassed by 9% the number of passengers carried in the same period last year.
